Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church is involved with numerous missions, both local and world wide. We contribute not only monetarily, but also with many hours of hands-on service in the name of our Lord. Many of our members routinely volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Beaver County, an organization that builds and remodels houses for families in need. We also contribute to the Women's Center and Pregnancy Support Center of Beaver County with our donation bins located here at the church. This allows the community to donate unneeded clothing and personal hygiene items that go straight to this worthy cause. The Salvation Army is also an active mission, with many of our members braving the cold to man the kettles during the holiday season. Our church also has a weekly community food bank that with the help from our Deacons, provides complete holiday meals to families in need for the Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas holidays, averaging 30 families per holiday. We also partner with the City Rescue Mission of New Castle to help with their Holiday food baskets. Many other local missions are involved as well, including the Uncommon Grounds Ministry of Aliquippa. Our church allocates 20% of our total yearly budget strictly for missions. We also have affiliations with Family Guidance, Teen Community Bible Study, and many more!
The Mission Committee has donated money to the Brazilian Partnership, Family Guidance, Habitat for Humanity, Beaver Valley Pregnancy Support Center, the Food Pantry, Salvation Army, Teen CBS and the Silver Ring Thing for Brazil. We had a successful mission trip to Brazil last year with Vacation Bible School and discipleship activities. We are currently working on the trip from Brazil to Mt. Carmel in July of this year, and the Mt. Carmel to Brazil trip in 2009
