Groups - Men's Fellowship Group
The Mt. Carmel Men's Fellowship Group focuses on fellowship, study, and service. Our group is guided by the following text from the Navigator's Series (an in-depth study course conducted at Mt. Carmel) - "Genuine fellowship is based on the concept of giving to and receiving from other Christians".
The group meets each Sunday evening at 7:30 PM at Dr. Tatum's office, and schedules other events at least monthly. Study and social events in the past 6 months have included:
- Cook Forest retreat - book discussion, food; campfires,
and canoeing.
- Golf outing at Beaver Lakes Country Club.
- Sunday night bonfire and book discussion with a beautiful
evening landscape view.
- Mt. Carmel history nights honoring our senior men.
- Lenten Bible study titled "The Week That Changed Everything".
Service events have included:
- Transportation for seniors to church holiday events.
- Church work days to handle maintenance and property upgrades - building maintenance; tree removals, restroom renovations.
Activities being planned as we look forward to Spring and Summer:
- Book discussion and billiards tournament - with special guests from our partnership church in Belo Horizonte, Brazil!
- Spring bonfire immediately following the return of acceptably warmer weather.
- Repair / replace ceilings in our childrens' Sunday School rooms.
- A possible pancake breakfast - we'll pick a mission need that can use the funds.
- Spring landscaping on the church grounds.
Additional information on our activities is communicated through e-mails and updates/flyers in our Sunday service bulletins.
